Obituary For Virginia Vernetta Beavers

Virginia Vernetta Beavers, also known as “GG”, “Ginny”, “Ginny Pooh”, 46, died on January 1, 2020 at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 3:00pm at Community Missionary Baptist Church 4909 E. Indian Trail

Ginny was born to Augustus and Lorine Beavers on June 6, 1973. She was a graduate of Southern High School and went onto hair school from there. Since she loved children, for a while she was employed at the Federal Building as a daycare worker.

After confessing her faith and belief in Jesus Christ, Virginia was baptized at Community Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W. T. Shumake. She later transferred her membership to Elim Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Vincent E. James. Ginny was a faithful member there until her health declined.

She had a very loving heart for all kids and spent a large amount of time babysitting. Since Ginny was a die-hard U of L Cardinal fan, often she could be seen throwing up her L’s or wearing red. She especially enjoyed watching the Cardinals play when she and her daddy did it together.

Prior to her health issues, Ginny hung-out with friends, attended church, played bingo, cooked, and went bowling and to the movies. Even after her health declined, she found joy in spending time with family by talking to them by phone; watching her favorite shows such as “90 Day Fiancé”, “Iyana, Fix My Life” and Lifetime movies; and playing her favorite game “Color by Number”.

Virginia was preceded in death by her mother, Lorine L. Beavers and brother, Darian Fomby. On January 1, 2020, Virginia Vernetta Beavers departed this life. She is survived by her father, Augustus C. Beavers; sisters, Nadine Rogers (Jerry), Bridgette Beavers, Dana Beavers, and Megan Bell (Branden); nieces and nephews, Alisha, Shawn, Wayne, Cheyenne, Branden, Jr., Kelvin, and Caidence; goddaughter, Monie Matthews; best friends, Carmelia Menese, Kristen Lowery, and Lillian Matthew; and lastly, her special friend and caregiver, Kenny Mack.
