” Time stood still for Richard Murray, on Monday, October 13, 2025, in the Hampton Regional Medical Center, Varnville, SC, as he departed these earthly shores for higher heights. Born April 24, 1944, Hampton, SC, he was the son of the late Clemon Murray, Sr. and Selia Heyward Murray.
Richard was a graduate of the North District Training School, Varnvillle, SC. After graduation he relocated to the City of Boston, Massachusetts where he resided the majority of his life. He was employed with the Massachusetts General Hospital. In later years, Richard returned to his native home where he enjoyed the company of his family and friends.
Richard was a member of the Anna Laurel Baptist Church, Early Branch, SC where he served under the pastoral guidance of Rev. James Houston.
Fond memories rests in the hearts of his fiancée, children, stepchildren, siblings, loved ones, community and friends.
Visitation: Thursday, October 16th, 5-7 pm in the Chapel of Young Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life: Friday, October 17, twelve o'clock noon in the Chapel of Young Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Wilkerson Missionary Baptist Church, 21424 Pocotaligo Road, Early Branch, SC 29916.
