Rochester, NY: - Young Funeral Home sadly announces the passing on March 13, 2023 of Miss Veronica Lee Steele, 73 of Rochester, NY, formerly of Early Branch, South Carolina. The breath of life was blown into her on July 13, 1949 in New York, NY. She was raised in Early Branch where she attended Wilkerson Baptist Church and graduated from North District Training School in 1968. Veronica lived most of her life in Early Branch until she moved to Rochester, NY to be close to her mother and brother. Veronica retired as a New York State employee where she took care of patients that were mildly physically or mentally challenged but lived in New York State housing within the community of Rochester. Veronica is the daughter of the late Anna (Shanky) Williams Wiggins and the sister of Albert R. Wiggins (Ricky) of Early Branch. Veronica leaves to mourn one daughter, Cassadra (San) Marie Steele, two grandsons, Javon Ravenelle and Malcolm Steele, all of Rochester, NY. Visitation was held at Metropolitan Funeral Home, 139 West Avenue, Rochester, NY on March 17, 2023. The family would like to thank all of you for your heart felt prayers and condolences in honoring our loved one.
