Edwin was born on November 10th, 1955, in the port city of Saint Petersburg, Florida at Mercy Hospital. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1973. He attended and graduated from the University of South Florida and majored in Criminal Justice. With his degree, he worked as a substance abuse counselor, family counselor, juvenile counselor, and probation officer. He then transitioned into his second area of study, the field of insurance. He worked for 25 years as an insurance adjuster for different insurance companies in Florida and Georgia. He continued incorporating family and youth counseling support for his clients and their families. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going on scenic drives with his wife, Barbara, family road trips, reading, writing, music, sports, gardening, cars, fishing. He published four suspense and romance novels in the Christian literature genre.

He served God in every church he attended in various ministries such as youth ministries, Bible study ministries, sports ministries, church choir, Sabbath School, community services, homeless ministries, religious liberty, and risk management. Edwin married the love of his life for 39 years, Barbara Jean Presley (Williams) on March 20th, 1983, at Elim Seventh-day Adventist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida with family and friends present to celebrate their beautiful union. I miss my Dad.

Love, Georgette Stringer (failed to include my name on the below.)

My deepest condolences are extended to Barbara, Bridgette, Byron, Nicole and the entire family. I met Ed about 18 years ago through Derrick Martin when I needed a realtor. Ed and I were friends ever since. What can I say about Ed? He seemed almost larger than life. Ed was a jokester but more than anything he was a very dear and cherished friend. He was always willing to either help you himself or refer you to someone else who could. Ed gave his thoughts on a wide range of topics; was always willing to listen; share his wealth of ideas and most importantly, give sound advice. He was truly a blessing to so many people. I miss Ed dearly but am so grateful for all of the wonderful memories.

Presley Family: Barbara and your children, Irvin, Liz and many others I can't name...Just a note to let you know that I'm very sorry that you have to experience Ed's passing. I've known him through our child-hood, teen years, young adult years and he was always mild and kind person. I haven't been in touch with you all for years but it certainly still saddened me greatly to hear of his illness and now death. I have personally learned that a person's presence may not be there as you normally had them BUT it IS still there; in your heart and minds that can't be erased. He is with you forever; the relationship, the moments in time that stand out most in your memories at just the right time. God is so great & loving to provide things that will sustain us (as needed) after the passing of a loved-one during mourning and beyond. All love go out to you from Pat Belcher-Bolton and the Belcher Family.

To Mrs Barbara and Family I met you at the adouglasville nursing place we became friends I just want to say your was so nice remember all the good times that you had with Edwin 🙏🙏Eveline (puddin)Terrell

Presley Family, Please know that I are keeping you lifted in prayers. I pray that the Lord will comfort your family through this time of grief and loss. Know that the Lord, our God is near to the brokenhearted and He is the source of all comfort at times we think we can't survive the pain, but He is faithful, and His promises are true. With His help you can get through all you are facing right now. May you find His strength in your weakness, and may His peace and hope fill your hearts. Remember all the good times and know that Ed is forever in your hearts. Hattie Perryman & Family 2

To the Pressley Family: With heartfelt sympathy during this season of loss. My heart is broken and filled with sadness. Bro Presley and I bonded working together during homeless outreach ministry at the Mt Olive SDA church. He served with humility and kindness. He was a true man of God. So he sleeps now until that great resurrection day when all of God's children who died In Christ will rise again. What a day of rejoicing that will be!!!
