Obituary For Susan Coleman

Susan McCoy Coleman, 54, of Atlanta went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2020 , where she was reunited with her parents Heyward & Mamie Lou McCoy and her brother Timothy McCoy. She was a native of Savannah, Georgia and graduated from Beach High School in 1984. She attended South University where she studied nursing. She was employed as a patient monitor technician at Piedmont Hospital for 15 years and she was an active member of Deeper Life in Christ Church. Susan was always ready to minister to others by showing compassion and a willingness to help. She could always be counted on when you needed support. She took great joy in giving to others and would put an abundance of time and effort into finding the perfect gift for a loved one. Susan was from a large family, yet she provided incredible support and love to each and every family member and treasured every moment she spent with them. She was blessed with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews that she adored and took care of as if they were her own. She also considered her cherished friends Evon Roberts, Deborah Williams, and Theresa Osgood to be part of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Heyward and Mamie Lou Crawford McCoy and her brother Timothy McCoy. She is survived by her brothers Terry (Ruby) McCoy, Herman “Gabbie” (Beverly) Dempsey, Rodney Dempsey, and Tommie Lee Crawford and her sisters Donna (Randy) Conyers, Brenda (Joseph) Mobley, Arlene Hall, Beatrice (Bobby) Douglas, Shirley (Wayman) Sparrow, and Carolyn (Cottrell) Riggins. Arrangements are being provided by Alfonso Dawson Mortuary of Atlanta. Although there will be no service at this time, plans for a celebration of Susan's life will be announced at a later date.

Heaven is blessed to have this soul. It is not often, in this day and time to be able to say that without a doubt, the angels are rejoicing. I loved to hear Sue worship. It came from such a pure place in her heart. Sue, get your crown girl....we love you. Deborah and Darrin Rutledge Deeper Life In Christ Ministries

My sincerest condolences from my family and I. I known Sue since I was a teenager. May God give you all peace at this time.

To Carolyn an d family, My family and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family. You and Sue were me and my sister childhood friends from Garden Homes. We are so sorry to hear about Sue!

Sue, as she was affectionately called was an angel here on Earth. I met Sue back in the early nineties when she was a nursing assistant at memorial health university. She provided care for my Father on the nephrology floor. We'll always remember her for the Love, care and compasion she gave. We knew that daddy was in good hands when Sue was working. She became a dear family friend I know she's in the arms of Jesus a true Christian and prayer warrior! Our heartfelt condolences and prayers are with you, her family at this most difficult time. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord

Sue and Carolyn always treated me like a baby sister. God gained an angel, and she will be truly missed. I remember our fancy hairstyles and clothes, that we continued to show the world. There was always laughter in the midst and even some praising, shouting and worshipping God. Sue will live on forever in my heart. I love the family and will continue to keep you lifted in my prayers. Love Selena

Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
