Joann “JoJo” Graves was born on April 5, 1961 to the late Docia Graves Allison, Joe Nathan Fulwood, stepfather: Levander Allison and was reared by her grandparents. Willie Boyd and Colleen Clark Graves. She departed this earthly life on Monday, October 28, 2019 at her residence.
She graduated from Dillon High School in Dillon, South Carolina in the class of 1980. Later, she pursed her education at Columbia Junior College, Columbia, South Carolina.
Joann enjoyed playing softball from an early age which was a sports that her grandmother instilled in most of her children and grandchildren. To know Joann was to love her. She was a quiet, laid back person who always loved to be herself.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Docia Graves Allison, grandparents: Willie Boyd and Colleen Clark Graves, brother: Lewis Stevenson Ford.
Joann leaves to cherish her loving memories ~ one son: Virgil Graves of the home; a daughter: Crystal Graves of Charlotte, NC; adopted daughter: A’Kesha Wright of Dillon, SC; her father: Joe Nathan Fulwood of Trenton, NJ; step-father: Levander Allison of Queens, NY; special sister and caregiver: Jacqueline Graves of Dillon, SC; cousins who were raised in her home as sisters: Frances Samuel and Rose Graves both of Dillon, SC; brothers: Joe Prentis Graves, O’Landrea (Joyce) Fulwood both of Dillon, SC, Rayford Graves of Queens, NY; special aunt, uncle and caregiver: Albert (Barbara) McCallum; aunts: Flora Bell Graves, Virginia (Jessie) Velasquez, Wilhemenia Graves, Retha Graves, Nancy Ludeen McKoy, Mary Sellers, Betty Lou Bostic, Reonia Dixon, Crissy Hamer, Mary Ann Thomas, Elizabeth Gooden; uncles: Joseph (Dorothy) Graves, Johnny Parmis; special cousins who she loved dearly: Shelawn Wright, Vassie Lloyd, Regetta Graves, Clara Bethea, Regina All-Uthmor; god-children: Kay Jones, Telasia Samuel, Melinda Singletary, Kartrina Campbell, Dy’Quashia Johnson; special friends: Rachel McInnis, Jackie Woods, Rosa Mae Rose, Linda German, Georgia and Jackie Thomas, Ruthie German, Mary Page, Franco Manufacturing, Florence Oncology (Dr. Tazi and Staff) and McLeod Hospice and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
