Minnie Lee Walker Jenkins was born March 15, 1947 in Eastern Jefferson County to the parentage of the late James Walker, Sr and Eliza Bynes Walker.
Minnie departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening August 17, 2022 at Piedmont Hospital, Augusta GA. She is preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Roxanne Jenkins and Daphne Jenkins, two brothers, Charles Walker and Lee Arthur Jenkins, a sister, Louisa Walker Golden and a niece, Jenny Walker Bunyon.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith Memorial C.M.E. Church, 4800 Highway 1 South, Wadley, Georgia with
Public viewing will be held Friday, August 26, 2022 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street, Louisville, GA with MASK
Interment will be held at San Hill Family Cemetery, Vidette, GA
She attended school in Jefferson County. She married her betrothed, the late James Jenkins in May of 1965. Minnie worked as a seamstress fir nearly 30 years and later worked at Fort Gordon Army Base before she resigned to raise her five minor grandchildren. Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughter: Christy (Tony) Jenkins Murray, Hephzibah, GA; her son: James Darrell (Becky) Jenkins, Waynesboro, GA and Dion Jenkins, Atlanta, GA; One sister: Eloise Walker, Augusta, GA; two brothers: George (Alma) Walker and James (Margaret) Walker, Jr. , Louisville, GA; Two sisters-in-law: Essie Stiddons and Mae Emma Jenkins, Waynesboro, GA; one brother-in-law, Carl Golden, Augusta, GA; Twelve grandchildren: Derrick Smith, Wadley, GA, Jasma Jenkins, Jasmine Jenkins, Ciaphus Jenkins, Kelvin Foster, Kyra Foster all of Augusta, GA, Auja Murray, Hephzibah, GA, Corvalis Jones, Woodruff, S.C., Kamari Jenkins, Waynesboro, GA, Tony Austin Murray, Hephzibah, GA, Chase Jenkins and Casheaus Jenkins, Atlanta, GA; 2 great grandchildren: Shantaze Yarbary and Nadja Yarbary, Augusta, GA; nieces, Letha (Phillip) Tolbert, Waynesboro, GA, Telencia (Ollie) McIntosh, Wadley, GA and Chantale Walker, Louisville, GA; nephews, Carl Landry Golden, Christopher Golden and Cedric Golden, Augusta, GA, Shondray (Sherita) Burton, Washington, DC and Anthony Walker, Charlotte, NC; a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
