My deepest condolences to you all and may God give you peace and understanding. One of my fondest memories of Deacon/Rev.Champion was the way HE could lead a devotion. As a young child growing up at Piney Grove I couldn't wait to hear Deacon Champion sing. His voice would do something to my spirit. So much that even on the way home from church my brother and I would try to out sing each other, in the car, imitating Deacon Champion!! For a long time devotion was synonymous with Rev/Deacaon Champion. I have so many memories I could share but know we loved him. God bless, Laquuta McGhee Donelson
A Great Man, a Gentle Giant, and True Champion for Christ.... He will be sorely missed. My Deepest Condolences to the Family and Church Family...
George was a longtime friend of Columbus, pretty much raised up together, sung together in a quartek group "the Junior Hummingbirds". George is the last of the group to remain. Columbus was loved and will be truly missed. Condolences and prayers go out to the entire family. ~George and Junava Jackson
