Mrs. Amanda Wingate Bynum age 101 of Lincolnton, North Carolina was born on May 18, 1921 in Lincoln County, North Carolina to the late Daniel Wingate and Hattie Hunter Wingate. She was married to the late Thomas Bynum, Sr. She transitioned on Monday, March 27, 2023 at The Greens of Lincolnton.
She received her formal education in the Lincoln County School System. She retired after twenty years from Burris industries. She was a member of Tucker’s Grove United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Amanda leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Milton Bynum, Michael Bynum and his wife Joanie all of Lincolnton, North Carolina; one daughter, Ida Hunter of Lincolnton, North Carolina; a sister, Cora Mae Derr of Iron Station, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wingate of Gastonia, North Carolina; two daughters-in-law; Mae Sue Bynum, Margaret Bynum; thirty grandchildren, fifty eight great grandchildren, twenty nine great great grandchildren, a special friend, Evelyn Boston.
Funeral Service is Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Tucker’s Grove United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
There will be a public walk through Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
