Eula served the children and families of Gaston County for 25 years as an emergency placement foster parent. Always available, always there, even in the middle of the night, with a warm bath, clean pjs, and a hug for children who came to her home scared and perhaps uncertain about life, but left loved, cared for, and knowing that there was someone who cared for and about them. Not just then, but for some children a lifetime as some found their way back to say thank "MawMaw." As a social worker, I never worried about any child/ren brought to Eula. She took care of them and me. After getting the children settled, we'd sit around her kitchen table sipping coffee and taking bites from a cake until we were both satisfied that she knew everything she needed to know to provide proper care. She accepted all ages, babies to teens and loved each one all while continuing to be a living wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Thank you, Eula, for your shining and constant example of servant hood. Well done thy good and faithful servant. ๐ Billie W. Moss (on behalf of myself and numerous families and Gaston County DSS social work staff.)
