Obituary For Mary Lowery

Mary Etolia Anderson Lowery age 84 of Stanley, North Carolina transitioned on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at her residence She was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina on September 11, 1935 to the late Lewis Alexander Anderson and Delphine Killian Graham. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Lowery and a daughter, Marilyn Lowery Patterson and most recent her son on August 3, 2020, Bishop Franklin E. Lowery. She graduated from Newbold High School, class of 1954. She worked as the Food Service Manager at Newbold after graduation and was Miss Newbold Alumni. She then went to work at J.P. Stevens for twenty five years, after retirement she became a Nanny. She was a faithful member of Gold Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, Usher, Missionary, VBS Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Secretary of the church, Choir and Kitchen Committee. She was also a member of American Beauty Chapter No. 546, Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors are two sons, Rev. Lewis Lowery (Teretha ), James Lowery, one daughter, Ce`leste L. Frazier (Carl) all of Stanley, NC, one brother, Jessie Graham of Charlotte, NC, two sisters, Cora Tillman, Cheryl Anderson both of Gastonia, NC, daughter-in-law, Elder Sylvia Lowery, son-in-law, Donald Patterson seventeen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren

Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 24, 2020 at 12 noon at Gold Hill Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The body may be viewed at Ebony & White’s on Sunday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Due to COVID-19 everyone is asked to wear masks.
