Sherbia and I have been friends since we attended Newbold High School together, over 60 years ago. She maintained her outstanding ability to bring an Unforgettable Spirit, Joy and Laughter wherever she was. She never met a stranger and would always include and engage any and every one she encountered. She has been a lifelong model of kindness, compassion, generosity and Community that I hope others may emulate in the years ahead. I'm sure I speak for many when I say, She will be sorely missed. My Family and I extend our heartfelt condolences to Ruth Ann, Clara, Melvena, Amelia, Carolyn "Neecy," Sherbia's Extended Family, Friends and Communities. We hold you up in Prayer 🙏🏼 Alana Holloway Barter & Family
I am shocked and deeply saddened to hear of my cousin's passing. I very recently found out. She was a sweet and kind soul. She always treated everyone with kindness, dignity, and respect. She will surely be missed. Dora Ann and the Clemons family
Sadly, I just found out about the loss of my cousin, late last night, since I am not on social media; and I recognize what a bright light that has been dimmed in my heart, in our family, and in this world. Reunions were always more fun, when Sherbia was sharing her genuine kindness, joy, and cheerfulness. I am sending my condolences to her immediate family, the Williams/Jones family. Although she is no longer sharing space on this earth with us; I am certain her brilliant light opened those pearly gates and she was well received; and now her light is shining down on us, with her glory. May she rest in peace.
God have called you home to be with him which is a great place to be. We love and you will be miss Cuz. Prayers for God grace and a peaceful death.

To Ruth and the family, we will miss Jean. She was a sweet person, always joking and making you laugh. her smile would light up a room and you felt the love she radiated. She was a local legend as well as an advocate/activist for the community. She was instrumental in getting folk out to Vote, volunteering at local charities, as well as a member of the NAACP! She was very active in church. She will always be in our hearts eternally.
