Obituary For Toni Swayne
Mrs. Toni Lenae Herbin Swayne age 59 of Conover, North Carolina transtioned on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Carolina Caring, Newton, North Carolina.
She was born in Welch, West Virginia on January 7, 1962 to Esther Herbin Hewitt and the late William Deering, Jr. She was married to the late Dwayne Michael Swayne. Toni graduated from Mt. View High School and attended Concord College.
She retired from Hickory Housing Authority as an Administrative Assistant. She was a member of Clinton Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church for twenty six years.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 15 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Clinton Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church, Hickory, North Carolina with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The body will lie in state on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Clinton Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Masks are required for all services
She is survived by two sons, Kevon Herbin and Kamar Swayne, her mother, Esther Hewitt, a sister, Brenda Peters and a brother, Patrick Herbin.

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Momma Toni. We knew her as a devoted woman to God first, her husband and children (Kevon and Kamar), then her church family and friends. All praises to our loving God who promises, "So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory."
