Obituary For William McLain
Mr. William Roger McLain, 90, of Lincolnton, North Carolina transitioned peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026 in the comfort of his home.
He was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina on March 8, 1936 to the late John D. McLain and Essie Juanita Diamond McLain.
Mr. Roger was a faithful member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Oaklawn School and graduated from Newbold High School.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial is to follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.
A public viewing will be held Friday, August 21, 2026 at the funeral home from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m.

To the McClain family and friends. I send my heartfelt condolences and prayers to you!! The years I've known Mr. Roger, he was always the same!! In in the past month or so, he remained the same. Asked how he's doing or feeling, he replied ' I'm doing good. He kept that attitude even to the end. I visited him that Thursday afternoon. I said Mr. Roger, you gotta get up so we can run the field, he chuckled, and said, I can't run. We briefly conversate. I said, do you wanted go for a walk? He said, "I wanna go home"! I said, you can go home Mr. Roger. I kissed him on the forehead, & told him I love him. And, I'll be back to see him. He replied, "I hope I won't be here"😢!! I said, just know I love ya. He replied, I love you too. I called to check on him the next day. I got the news from Quincy, he had passed. I said, well he was ready to go! He said that he hoped that he wouldn't be here. God, honored his wish!! Rest In Paradise Mr. Roger!! You will be missed!! To the family, May the joy of the Lord be your strength.
