When I moved to Shelby a year ago and hee hired me at Wendy's he was the kindest person I knew if I was going through something he would offer a lending ear he will truly be missed as I see he was the voice of Wendy's where people was always asking where he was if they didn't see him. I'm so sad to hear of the passing of dear Rodney. I didn't know Rodney personally. However, the times when I would visit my home church, Hopper's Chapel, I would make sure to look for him just to give him a hug and just to say hello. He was always so pleasant and he knew how to make people feel special and feel important. God gave Rodney a special gift of music. I will never forget Rodney playing a special role during the passing of my Daddy. The inspirational music he played and the songs he decided for the choir to sing during my Dad's memorial truly touched my heart. Thank you Rodney for being so kind hearted and so caring of others. Rodney (aka FAT) was always a cool, level headed, and friendly guy. In all of my days knowing him from school to adult, No one ever had a bad thing to say about him . He would make me laugh when at Wendy's he would double check employees bags to ensure all was listed and right... Rodney became my friend at Wendy's in Shelby. He was a man in whom the light of Chris shined forth to those he met. I was impressed originally by how he treated his workers (he was always calm, he always was looking to teach them how to do better, and he treated everyone with respect and dignity). I will be out of town this weekend and early next week so cannot attend the services honoring his memory. The family should be proud of him and the godly character he displayed in all circumstances. I dont think Rodney knew just how big a pleasure he was to be around. Its so nice that others felt the same as I do in that his smile was contagious, and his "how you doin" would brighten my day.
