Mr. Sherwood Vanoy βDuckβ Brown, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 26, 2025. He was born on May 21, 1953, in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Malinda Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Changers Church, Shelby, NC at 3:30 p.m. The reception of family and friends will be from 3 until 3:30 p.m. The family will be meeting at 135 Douglas Street, Lawndale, NC, at all other times.

I'm very sorry for the loss of Sherwood. I worked at the bank with him for a long time & had many good talks & laughs. He was such a nice person & just want the family to know I'm praying for them to have peace & comfort during their time of grief.

Duck was truly a landmark citizen of our community. He was a friend of my late father's, and I remember him as one of the "cool" dudes of Lawndale. He will be sorely missed. My prayers and condolences go out to his wife, sons, and the entire family.
