This is still not real to me. We had a bond even before I actually met you. I would talk to you over the phone when you were in Tennessee. You were the big brother/Protector I always wanted and the Best Godfather my daughter could have. You will be truly missed but I know you are watching over us. We love you. Rest in Heaven until we meet again.
Love You Lil brother. From Your big sister. You will be greatly missed. I know my heart will heal in due time.
Love You, Your big Sis Freada
'Hop' and I were HS classmates. We were also track and football teammates. My best memory with Hop came from one Saturday afternoon track meet. It's safe to say that neither of us were the fastest hurdlers on the team but on that Saturday, in the 300 and 110 hurdlers, he and I traded 1st and second place medals. I can still see Hop out of the corner of my eye going over the hurdles in the 110 and no one else was around. Honestly, I thought everyone else must have fallen because there is no way we were leading EVERYONE?!?! In those two races, on that Saturday afternoon, in some small Texas town, under that sun, at that moment, Hop and I were on top of the world. On that day, we stood on top of the podium. I don't remember if either of us ever won another race after that. My entire track career stood on that one day and Hop is the person I will forever share that day with. To his family and friends who I've never meet, I will forever have that lasting memory of the sun shining down on the two of us side by side going through the tape.
