Obituary For Carl Nance
CARL CURTIS NANCE was born November 10, 1948 son to the late Benjamin Roscoe Nance, Sr. and Annie Lee Graham-Nance. Carl departed this life to his eternal home on April 12, 2026.
CARL is preceded in death by his parents; 2 Sisters: Geneva Nance-Luckey and Wilma Nance-Caldwell; and His Brother: Benjamin Roscoe Nance, Jr.
CARL graduated from New Bold High School Class of 1967. He entered the US Army in 1968, served in the Vietnam War. Carl was wounded in combat and received the Purple Heart. After being honorably discharged he worked for United Stationers Supply Warehouse retiring after 40 years.
In his leisure time, CARL enjoyed gardening, walking along his neighborhood streets for exercise, picking up litter, chatting with his family and friends, and always giving to others especially those big double yoked eggs.
CARL leaves to cherish his memories: One son: Darrell Nance of Charlotte, NC, One grandson: Devontae Nance (Myshaela) of Charlotte, NC; Three granddaughters: Alanna Nance; Lola Porter, and Regina Porter; One great-grandson: Jamir Nance; Two sisters: Martha Sanders of Stanley, NC and Vernell McLean of Belmont, NC. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. His Camp Green Neighborhood, Freedom Drive Area, Parkway Street Area, and West Blvd Area.
Memorial service on Saturday; April 25, 2026 at Gold Hill Baptist Church, Stanley at 12 noon with visitation beginning at 11:30

he is with mama Lucy now his soul for ever live on.
Carl will be missed. He definitely left a legacy within the neighborhood. He was known for helping neighbors and many others in ways that comes genuine from the heart. He was faithful maintaining the streets near his home on Camp Greene, neat and clean. The work he's done surely speak loudly and clear. To the family, may this bring comfort knowing the impact he had on the community will live on. Pray that God offer true comfort during this difficult time.
Uncle Carl I will miss you dearly. I love the way that you took care and cared about your family unconditionally. I remember when my dad passed away you came and sat outside the house when you knew I had to close at work and stayed untill I made it in safely that's something I will never forget. I Love you and may you rest in heavenly paradise. Love your niece La Shanda.
It was both an honor and a privilege to meet you and work with you for over 30 something years you will be missed your kindness your gratefulness and charity. I hope that your family can keep your legacy going the same way. This is one way to remember you as they life. Where he's going now he has a perfected body and eternal life, peace of my brother and friend.
