On April12, 2020, the angel of mercy was dispatched from the heavenly rims of glory to claim the soul of Samuel Taylor at his home in Lithonia , Georgia. He was born August 9, 1940, in Moncks Corners, South Carolina to the late Alberth a Taylor Mack. Sam,as he was affectionately called by many, graduated from Berkeley County Training School, Monck Corners, South Carolina, Class of 1960.After high school, he worked in construction. After a few years, he then moved to New York. It was there Sam learned the plumbing trade, working under the watchful eye of his cousin, Kenneth Taylor at Kenneth Taylor's Plumbing Shop. It was also in New York, that Sam met and married the love of his life, Barbara Harper on June 25, 1966. In 1980, the couple moved to Decatur, Georgia. Sam found employment with Greater DeKalb Plumbing and Repair Company, Inc. Several years later, he joined the Atlanta Housing Authority and achieved the status of "Master Plumber". After many years of service, he retired from the Atlanta Housing Authority. After retirement, Sam continued to provide plumbing services on a private basis, serving customers in the community for many years. After moving to DeKalb County, Sam and Barbara also needed to find a church home. They visited many churches in the area before uniting with their church home, Saint Philip AME Church. At Saint Philip, Sam was a faithful member of Choir #1, the Male Chorus and the Male Usher Board. Samuel Taylor leaves to celebrate his life and cherish loving memories, his devoted and loving wife of 54 years, Mrs. Barbara H. Taylor; sister, Ms. Jeanette Mack, Moncks Corners, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Mr. Ranney (Alice) Harper, Decatur, Georgia; sister-in-law, Ms. Frances Harper, Bronx, New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and clients.

Dearest Sam, I am grateful for your friendship, encouragement, and care you extended to me when I joined Choir #1. Never a time passed that you didn't greet me before and after rehearsals. Our conversations will continue to be treasured. My condolences to the Taylor Family. Blessings always, Brenda Vann
To my favorite plumber Sam. I never had to worry when you were on the job. I will always remember how helpful you were to me when I bought my first house and water was going everywhere! I have always appreciated your talent, love for your family and the fact that you cooked Sunday dinner! Rest In Peace until we meet again. Alberta Faush

The master plumber, but it wasn't just a plumber I recall many times he served and volunteered when we used to do men's bible study breakfast and he would always be willing to wash dishes. Times when we did the Arts Festival and when we used to grill for the annual conferences he always made a way to be there I love you man rest in peace.
