Deacon Joe Nathan Richardson (72) of Valdosta, Georgia born on October 21, 1947 – reared in the Howell, Georgia Community.
Deacon Richardson was a man of faith, love and generosity. He heard the voice of Jesus say, “Come unto me and rest; lay down, thou weary one, lay down thy head upon my breast. He was escorted to Heaven on the wings of angels on Friday, May 15, 2020.
Deacon Joe Richardson, found in Jesus a resting place, and even though he will be deeply missed, by his lovely family and his Greater Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church Family.
Deacon Joe Richardson's body will lie in repose in the sanctuary of Greater Pleasant Temple M.B.C. (309 Cherry St.) from 9:00 AM till service time, note for WALK THROUGH ONLY.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Facial coverings and gloves are asked to be worn when entering the sanctuary, as enforced by CDC social distancing practices.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM on the front lawn of Greater Pleasant Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 309 Cherry Street - Valdosta, Georgia. Reverend Bernard L. Robinson Sr., is pastor and will officiate.
For this celebratory events, Harrington Funeral Home Inc., is requesting that each attendee is advised to please ensure you wear a facial covering and note CDC social distancing practice. This will be enforced.

My deepest heartfelt condolences to the family during this difficult time. Sgt. Richardson was an superb supervisor! I could hear him from a mile away yelling, count time! Count time! He knew he didn't have to do any paperwork because I had his back. He taught me to always be fair and firm to all the detainees. He said, you will earn their respect. True statement! Sergeant, you will deeply be missed by so many. Thank you for always treating me with the upmost respect & training me to be a great officer!Your spirit of love, kindness and wisdom will live forever.

To my dear uncle Nay AKA the "Colonel" I remember the fried chicken uncle Nay cooked, it was the best. You were real and identified realness I'm so glad that I got to see you during my moms party. My brother Mark and I spent a lot of time with Uncle Nay growing up and looked forward to treats when he would come home from his prison job. R.I.P uncle Nay you will be missed.

Thirty-Five years ago, my uncle walked me down the aisle to give me to my husband. Although I'm sad, I did see and talked to him at my mom, his sister's (70th) birthday party.
