Mrs. Lillye Mae White Sharper (79)

I came to know Mrs. Sharper many years ago when needing alterations done to my police uniform and continued on with alterations with my suits and personal clothing after I made detective. She was such a sweet soul and always had an honest warm welcome for me when I walked into her shop. "Good morning Kyle, how are you today" she would say. It is rare to find people today that get to know the citizens like Mrs. Sharper did. I will truly miss her smile and the sound of her warm greeting to me, but I know she is with Jesus now and they are singing and smiling together. Thank you for all the kindness you always showed me. I met Mama Sharper at her sewing shop, She embraces me with love from the moment I walked in, I'd stay for awhile and talk, laugh and all..she altered my clothing all the time. I was new to Valdosta from Sanford, Fl. I told Mama that I needed my waist trainer bought in and every two weeks she'd bring it in for me and check my weight..."Boy you show losing that weight" she'd say. She taught me to love myself and that she was happy that I wanted to be healthy. Her and her daughter both is a gift and blessing to me.

I went in the road and was coming to the shop everyday but no one was their, wasn't like her to not be in the shop like that. I was worried. I called the Cleaners and they say she had passed 3 weeks ago. I was out if town, I'd always see her before I left town but she was out the shop then. I love you Mama abd I'll always remember you!

Good morning, my condolences Dexter & Chequella, Eric & Lisa, siblings and in-laws, grandchildren all White and Shaper families and friends it's a blessing to be able to wake up on a Sunday morning but for Mother Shaper beautiful eyes will not be able to open again . I moved to Valdosta, GA., 2006 I had the pleasure to met her we had sewing in common and gospel we would shared sewing (she was the teacher) sometimes I just reminded her ideas with laughter and smiles. Mother Shaper would allow me to post up Flyers in the window at the Valdosta City Cleaner's. Also, it was the place I buy my gospel tickets. She shared her little space with so... many people who come though the doors. How is your day! As we had in our arm going to miss that greeting and her spirit of love for her Community.

Thanks, White and Shaper families for sharing a beautiful lady. For Mother Shaper and Mr. Shaper your seeds will be on earth for generations to come may you both rest in peace and reunite once again.

I came to know Ms. Lillye through her work at the little alterations shop on Force St. Countless Valdosta Police Officers including myself have visited her over the years and she kept our uniforms up to par. I continued to visit her when I became a detective and often needed a suit tightened up or more often let out.... She worked on clothing for my entire family and I would always recommended others to visit it. She was patient, kind and sweet. Ms. Lillye always ready to give me a good word to brighten my day. I am so sorry for your loss. She was a special person and will be missed.
