Funeral service for David Gunn, 69, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Thomas Brown will officiate.

Mr. Gunn, who passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born January 5, 1955, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Monday, August 26, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

His precious memories will forever be cherished by: three sisters, Mary Ann Gunn of Auburn, AL, Armuriel Gunn Dumas and Collage "Dale" Gunn Holloway both of Opelika, AL; one brother, Earnest (Bernice) Gunn, Jr. of Opelika, AL; one sister-in-law, Jacqueline Gunn of Opelika, AL; one brother-in-law, Morgan Burton of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

David was my best friend and I really miss calling him and him calling me to how my day was going.miss riding out to get burgers and ice cream cone I will always love you my friend

I was so sorry to hear of David's passing. David was a classmate and childhood friend. We grew up together, walking the dusty roads of Gold Hill. Playing from house to house in the community a time when you didn't have to worry about your kids. May the Lord strengthen his family during their hours of bereavement.
