Funeral service for Tyreesha Pettus, 34, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 650 Jeter Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Clifford E. Jones, Pastor, Bishop Kenneth Carter, Eulogist.

Ms. Pettus, who passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born March 16, 1990, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, April 5, 2024 from 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.

Ms. Pettus will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

“Ty” as she was affectionately known by family and friends, graduated from Beulah High School Class of 2008 where she played on the Girls Varsity Basketball Team and was Color Guard for the Beulah Marching Band.

She leaves to cherish her memory: four children, Destiney Thomas, Diamond Pettus, Azorian “Sunshine” Pettus and Zavaeion “Zae” Pettus all of Opelika, AL; mother, Michelle Thomas of Opelika, AL; father, Stanley (Ericka) Gray of Opelika, AL; two brothers, Jermaine (Jenna) Pettus of Opelika, AL and Demarquis Mitchell of Bakersfield, CA; four sisters, Quwanda Spinks of Auburn, AL, Alexis Frederick of Greenville, SC, Tonekia Menefield of Opelika, AL and Cartesha Towles of Valley, AL; grandmother, Mildred Gray of Opelika, AL; three godchildren, Wheeler Barnes, Ruthie Norton and Charlie Decker all of Opelika, AL; five aunts, Clara Pettus, Brenda Curtis, Jennifer Gray, Valerie Gray all of Opelika, AL and Constance Gray-Page of Dothan, AL; four uncles, James Lamar Pettus, Jeffrey Gray, Rodney Gray all of Opelika, AL and Robert Gray of Cincinnati, OH; six great-aunts, Gloria Bell Pettus (Larry) Davis, Clara Haynes, Mary Jo Cooper, Annie Jean Evans, Fannie Roberts and Gloria Woods all of Opelika, AL; three great-uncles, Robert Lee (Birdie) Pettus of Montgomery, AL, Jackie (Luvenia) Robinson and Calvin Robinson all of Opelika, AL; three special friends, Michelle Brown, Lakitia Greenwood both of Opelika, AL and Chicora Herren of Dadeville, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins
