Obituary For Tyus Ahmad Flakes

Funeral service for Tyus Flakes, 26, of Auburn, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Auburn United Methodist Church, 137 South Gay Street, Auburn, AL 36830 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL 36801, Bishop Kenneth Carter will officiate.

Mr. Flakes, who passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born June 12, 1997 in Lee County, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Willie Bell Flakes.

Public viewing will be Friday, February 16, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Tyus leaves to cherish his memory: his precious daughter, Zaneli Flakes, affectionately known as “Sweet Sweet” of Boaz, AL; loving parents, Delanda Tyrone Flakes of Las Vegas, NV and Latranda Griffin Flakes of Auburn, AL; one brother, Tyler Flakes of Auburn, AL; one sister, Tatianna Robinson of Atlanta, GA; maternal grandmother, Angela O'Neal (Danny) of Opelika, AL; maternal grandfather, Lindsey Brooks of Opelika, AL; paternal grandfather, Chester Flakes (Hattie) of Opelika, AL; three aunts, Monique Flakes of Opelika, AL, Shabrisha Huguley Brooks of Richmond, VA and Annie Faye Hatcher of Camp Hill, AL; four uncles, Danzavious O'Neal (Darlene), Demetris Griffin both of Opelika, AL, Clint Flakes of Atlanta, GA, and Cedric Todd (Lisa) of Auburn, AL; godmother, Beverly Lockhart of Auburn, AL; two loving godsisters, Zanderika Lockhart and Anihya Lockhart both of Auburn, AL; a godbrother, Cartavius (Tykea) Lockhart of Auburn, AL; a best friend, Ty Giddens of Auburn, AL; a host of great-uncles, great-aunts, special loving cousins and friends.
