Sending love and support during this incredibly difficult time. I find myself at a loss for words, as the loss of Miss Berry feels like a void that can never be filled. For so many of us—her beloved "God Kids"—her passing is truly a loss and difficult time.
Miss Berry welcomed my brother John and I into her home with open arms, treating us like her own children. We were blessed to attend Burton Elementary, where she lovingly became our "Purple Momma." She instilled in us the values of respect and kindness, reminding us to treat everyone with love and compassion. After school, her home was a sanctuary for us until our mom could pick us up. I will always cherish the memories of being spoiled by Tonya, Lynn, and Nadine, and the warmth that filled her home.
Miss Berry's footprints on our lives will never fade, and her love will forever be cherished in our hearts. She was truly a queen, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly in all of us who were lucky enough to know her.
Rest in peace, Miss Berry. The White Family will miss you dearly, but we take comfort in knowing that your love and teachings will live on in each of us. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
With all my love and prayers, Vivian White and Family
I never had the pleasure of meeting Momma BeBe Berry. But I know her through one of the fruits she bore, her daughter Deborah Peaks Coleman. I met "Peaks" almost 50 years ago when we were on the pledge line for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in 1976 at Howard University. Peaks was #18, and I was #19 on the Phenomenal 23. When we were online, I stood behind "Peaks" and had her "back." When my "front" hurts, I hurt. Nothing can replace Barbara Peaks Berry's love. On behalf of my line sisters and other Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. members, Howard University Bisons worldwide, who love "Peaks," we offer our heartfelt condolences to "Peaks," her family, and friends. Warmly, Judge Trudy M. White, Retired, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

I first came to know Ms. Berry when I attended Burton Elementary...I hated school and cried everyday until she came to my rescue. I wasn't in her class but everyday, she made sure I was with her. She even brought me into her home to meet her girls and spend the night. Later in life, she came back into my life as I became close friends with some of her nephews and nieces. "Aunt BB" was full of life and was a very bright light in my life. Sending condolences to the family. Missy
Praise God for his wonderful servant, Barbara Jean Peaks Berry! May God comfort her loved ones.
I remember when I first met my beautiful Auntie BB! My mom Hattie Peaks Mebane who is BB's sister took me over to McDougall Terrance for the summer until my mom got off of work. I had the most fun every summer at her house Lynn, Nadine would teach me how to play spades and cornrows hair. As I got older my mom and BB would go and play bingo and everytime I walked in the build I would sit down beside her and my mom and Yelled! BINGO!! and I wasn't even playing and they would be mad at me. I would laugh. Then I would come over my auntie house and we sit and watch those redskins play she would scream at the TV, scream at Patrick Ewing, scream at anybody that played basketball. My beautiful auntie would call me and check on me everyday just like she did for all her sisters and brothers and friends and cousins. I will not forget any of my auntie and uncles. Thank you BB for being my favorite Aunt!
To the Berry-Peaks Family, My family. May God comfort you during this difficult time. I will always cherish those moments, In Southside as teenagers and young adults, and how our children grew up together. Many, many fond memories will always linger. Dearest Barbara we love you, but God loved you best now take your rest.
