Bing was not only a co-worker at Duke, but he was a very dear friend to me. There is a very big empty place in my heart now. He was always happy, smiling, and ready with a joke. I will never forget when we worked together in the Bell Building and he told me it was his 50th birthday. We had a big party and posted his picture all over our building. Everyone came and we had a great time. He told me the next day that he was mistaken and he was really 54. We never let him forget that and gave him a hard time every chance we had. We talked a lot about his time in Vietnam and he really struggled with the memories. I will miss him terribly but I know he is now at peace with the Lord. Pat
I haven't seen Bing in a few years, but remember fondly our chance encounters at Duke in the hallway years ago, exchanging pleasantries and a joke or two. He was always in a sunny, smiling mood and a very nice man. RIP, sir. My condolences to Bing's family. Keith
He was a great help to me at the SEON lab in the Bell Building and showed me how to get Salmon Patties at Duke South every Friday. Thanks for your service in Viet Nam. Dirk
To Bing’s family I offer my sincere condolences. Bing was more than a coworker at Duke Radiology but was a friend and protector. A very kindhearted and showed compassion for others. I will miss him.
