I was so blessed to have lunch with Mr Hodges family when they use to come to Durham from Fayetteville. My Dad went to Tuskegee and I was a proud Aggie, just like Carl Hodges Sr. I learned quickly just how intelligent and witty he was during our lunch outings. As an Aggie legend he embodied the true spirit of Aggie Pride!
Rest In Peace Brother Hodges,
I will miss the friendly banter about our schools and your remembering me back in high school.
To the Hodges Family, I'm praying for your uplift especially now.
Til we meet again...

May deepest sympathy to the family. May God continue to bless you at this time and all times. Sincerely Lela Pilgrim (Brooklyn, NY)
As a Durham County Extension Agent and especially as the Director, I always look forward to Mr. Hodges visit. He would share a joke to bring a smile, wisdom to make things easier, advice to offer options and encouragement to keep me going and maintaining my ethics and values. The best mentor and friend anyone could have! He paved the way for me and so many others. Delphine Godley Sellars
The message from the ticket office is from Patsy Frazelle, past Ticket Manager from 1988-2014.
I will always remember when you, Mr. Thomas Taylor, Mr. Kearney would come to buy your football season tickets. There was always a debate on who was the oldest. You always won. Rest in heaven, Mr. Hodges. 9
Terry, I am keeping your family in prayer. See you soon. Evelyn Dove
Sincere sympathy to the Hodges family. I met Mr. Hodges over 60 years ago in the Rougemont/Bahama communities. He was referred to as our farm representative. He always had a kind, uplifting and jovial spirit. I encountered him again at his beloved Covenant Presbyterian Church in 2005. Ofcourse he stated comically; "if you know me, I know where you are from". He was also very delighted to know that my daughter was a proud graduate of the "At the Top"- Aggie Pride University in Guilford County. Please know that your loved one is at peace where there is no suffering/pain and telling jokes to the angels and all his surroundings. RIP Shirley Turrentine-Cole
