Cecelia Harrison, of Queens, New York, peacefully passed away on October 12,
2024, at the age of 66. Born on January 27, 1958, to Annie and Fred Russell in New York, Cecelia graduated from John Adams High School in 1976. She then pursued her studies in social work at York College, where she became a wiz at playing bid whist! She ultimately found herself in finance where she had a long career as a financial analyst for Credit Suisse Bank. In 1982, Cecelia married William Harrison, her partner for over 40 years, and in
1987, they welcomed their son, William Russell Harrison. In 2009, Cecelia, William, and her mother began a new chapter in Durham, North Carolina. There, she discovered a warm church community, formed new friendships, nurtured her love for gardening, and eventually retired from her finance profession. Cecelia was preceded in death by her father, Fred "Buster" Russell, and her brother, Fredrick Russell. She is survived by her husband, William "Billy" Harrison; | her mother, Annie Russell; her sister, Debbie Russell; her son, William Harrison; daughter-in-law, Rashella Harrison; grandson, Carter Harrison; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and family friends. Cecelia was like a mother to all the children in the neighborhood and a steadfast friend to her neighbors, many of whom became family. Her light illuminated the lives of those around her, and she will be deeply missed by many.

Ms.Cecelia was such a bright light! My family and I enjoyed her company during her Columbia Md. visits. She was the life of the family BBQ. I will not be selfish and ask why, I will be thankful that I was blessed enough to know her. Thank you Kenny and Auroa for sharing Cecelia with us. -From Yolanda and Kwame Alleyne
