I remember meeting Chevar for the very first time, and let me just say, he left an indelible impression. He was full of laughter, he loved to give hugs, he loved the kids, and he loved to cook and bake, and never had a problem expressing himself. Chevar was one of a kind. May God and His Holy Spirit comfort his family now and forever.
I worked with Chevar for a short time but I do know he loved hugging others to start the mornings. He held such compassion to teach younger children. I pray that his family gains understanding and comfort during this time of Bereavement.
I am truly heartbroken, but I am happy that he is in a better place. He was the sweetest soul I have ever met in my life and remember the sweetest little necklace he gave me one year in highschool. I will always remember him and the light that he brought to everybody's life.
Chevar you will be truly missed! You were such an amazing son and person! I'm sending the family peace, comfort, strength and love!
Love, Ms. Kia

To the family, my heart is with you all through this most difficult time. Thank you for allowing Chevar to share the time with us that he did. There are no words that can truly express how much Chevar meant to me. He wasn't just an employee — he was like a son. His kindness, laughter, and bright smile brought light to me every day, and his spirit left an imprint on my heart that will never fade.
To his mother, thank you for sharing such a remarkable person with me. Chevar's warmth, respect, and joy reflected the love and values you poured into him. I will forever cherish the time we shared and carry his memory with me always. His smile will forever be a part of my life. Your entire family will forever be apart of me and please know that Chevar's life and legacy will carry on with our school and with me. Always and Forever -Yvonne

Chevar could light up a room with his smile. He was one of the sweetest and kindest young man that I have ever met. I worked at the high school where he graduated. I remember how proud he was at graduation. He worked hard at everything that he did. I visited him at his college and he proudly gave me a tour of the dorms. Thoughts and prayers are lifted for his family and friends. He made the world a better place to be in. Chevar touched the lives of so many at Matoaca High School.
