I just heard about the passing of my friend Chris. Chris would call now and then to say hello. I send my prayers and love to his family. He will truly be missed. Lori R.
Ila and John I truly wasn't ready for the physical absence of Chris. The both of you still had so many more precious moments and memories to fulfill with Chris. Sister, my heart is flooded with sorrow. My God, My God, we all spent Thanksgiving Day together in laughter and celebration. My prayers, and condolences are with you, John and the entire Owens family. Ila and John, as you both prepare to say your earthly good byes to your beloved Chris, just know, it will be the little things that you will remember, the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter, and although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memories of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again. Hence, there are really no goodbyes for any of us. Wherever you are, Chris will always be in your hearts." Like a bird singing in the rain, let grateful memories survive in time of sorrow. I love you both! May Chris Forever Rest In Paradise!πππππππ

My prayers and condolences to the family. I met Chris in the Steppin community. We became good friends and joked a lot. We talked about gardening and dance just things in general. I know none of us know the day or hour but this was shocking. Chris I will miss you on the "wood"; showing me one of your new moves. Rest N Peace.QK5
Chris was a great friend. We always went back and forth talking junk to one another, all in fun and laughs. He loved dancing and would spin you around like a spin top. Lol. He often checked on me during the passing of my best friend. Chris you are loved and missed dearly. My condolences to your son and family during this difficult time. Continue to rest in paradise.
With great sympathy, Tiffany S.

Wow Chris I wasn't expecting to see this. I met Chris in California working at Kaiser Oakland over 30 years ago. The last time I saw him was in Jamaica on a vacation. He was an awesome coworker, and friend, he was funny. And always full of joy. He will be missed β€οΈ - Lashun Moore Oakland, Ca
Chris was a great and very loyal friend. I met Chris shortly after he moved to NC to work for Nortell Networks many years ago. We always kept in touch with life updates through the years. He was a real one. Rest in Heaven Buddy. DeeMarie
Chris was an awesome guy. I met him when he signed up to go on one of my bus trips. We were friends from that point forward. I'm already missing him. Thank you for staying true to who you were. Love ya brother! - Journonya
Chris was my buddy all through Jr. High and High school. I have fond memories of us hanging out at John Swett playing basketball and cracking jokes with the other neighborhood kids. He loved to dance and was even my partner on the old KOFY TV Dance Party show and we had a blast!! As adults we continued to keep in touch to talk about the Warriors (asking if I had any spare tickets..LOL!) as well as our life updates. He was always upbeat and had a great sense of humor. His passing is a huge loss and he will be greatly missed. I send my deepest condolences to his family and hope they can find comfort and strength during this difficult time. Rest in paradise "Cuzzin".
I don't really know where to beginπ’ But here is a good one. One night me and Chris was heading back from San Jose and it was really late. I looked over at Chris and he had a huge ass smile on his faceπ I asked why are you smiling like that and he replied "I read that if you smile while driving you won't get sleepy" I said what! And he turned and had that smile and we both fell out hella laughing. I guess it because we made it home. Thank you my brotha for all you do and have done for all of us back in the day! Rest well and keep dancing! πΊ ππΏβ¨ποΈπ
I remember Neve, Rickey and I cutting school with Chris to go pick up his prom outfit. I believe it was powder blue or the bowtie was which was a very big bowtie. Chris had an amazing talent for tie-dying some 501 jeans ,dancing and always making us laugh . Rest well, my friend

Sending prayers of comfort to Chris' family. Chris and I became friends through the Chicago Steppin community. He and I called each other "birthday twins" as our birthdays were the same day and year. I will miss his WARM spirit, laughter, LOVE for the dance, our "talks" about WHATEVER (including him teaching me about growing micro greens), AND accepting people for who they are without judgement. I KNOW he knew God and was a believer he is smiling down on us now. I have and will continue to lift all of his family and friends up in prayer. Heartfelt condolences, Angie B.
Chris was my BFF. We met a little over 2.5 years ago at a Chicago Stepping set. After a few short months of getting to know each other Chris and I were like peanut butter and jelly. We started traveling the world together and enjoy our common interest of Stepping. Our last trip was to Atlantic Beach celebrating my birthday in August.
I truly miss him!
