Obituary For DeMirra Gail McArthur Rogers
DeMirra Gail McArthur Rogers passed away surrounded by loving friends & family on Friday September 20, 2024. She was born June 20, 1967 to Sylvester C. McArthur Sr. and Maxine McArthur. She is preceded in death by Sylvester C . McArthur Sr. (Father), Lamont McArthur (Brother), and Adara Davis(Niece).
DeMirra is survived by her children, CaBria Rogers of Durham NC, Sterling Rogers Jr. of Durham NC, Ex-Husband, Sterling Rogers Sr., and Granddaughter, Onyx Rogers. In addition she is survived by her Mother, Maxine McArthur, siblings, Latasha Davis(Leslie) of Maryland, Tamara McArthur of Maryland, and Sylvester McArthur Jr. of Maryland, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
DeMirra attended Northwood Elementary School in Baltimore, Md., Magnolia Middle School, and graduated from Edmondson High School in 1985.
In her teen years DeMirra ran track at Joppatowne HS and Edmondson HS. DeMirra graduated and enjoyed entering beauty contests, attended modeling school, as DeMirra was often admired for her beauty. She later went on to complete cosmetology school in Durham, NC. After retiring as a hairdresser, she worked as a property manager, as well as opening her own discount furniture store in Durham.
DeMirra was always trying to help someone and show support to her family and friends. Whether you asked for it or not, DeMirra was always ready to extend her assistance. As she was known to have never met a stranger. DeMirra left her family a legacy of love, determination, and unwavering support. Her love for her family and friends was endless and her sense of humor was infectious to everyone she met.
DeMirra grew up in St. Paul Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD., where she accepted Jesus as her Lord in Savior at an early age. DeMirra grew up singing on the choir and loved to share fond memories of singing gospel songs with her father. Her charisma gained her great lasting relationships with many people. However, her greatest was her love for God.
DeMirra will be sorely missed, but her warrior spirit will live on in all who knew her.

Service: Friday, September 27, 2024 | Visitation service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm | Funeral service starts at 1:00 pm.
