Dwayne Steven Evans, 38, of Durham, NC, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. He was born on January 26, 1987, to Donelle and Evelyn Evans and was the youngest of four siblings.
Dwayne attended Durham Public Schools and later earned an associate degree in Business Administration from Everest University. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Workspace Moving Solutions in Durham, NC.
As a devoted member of Faith Assembly Church, Dwayne was active in his community. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, and fishing with close friends. He was a sports fan and a loyal supporter of the Duke “Blue Devils.”
He is survived by his loving parents, Donelle and Evelyn Evans of Durham, NC; his son, Dwayne Evans Jr. of Durham, NC; and his daughter, Annice Evans of Raleigh, NC. He also leaves behind his sister, Sheree Knight Beacham (Kelan) of Ewing, NJ; his brother, Donelle Evans of Durham, NC; a nephew, Koree Lockhart (Haley), and a great-nephew, Kaison Lockhart, both of Bremerton, WA; and a special friend, Tameshia McClinic.
Dwayne will be reunited with his brother, Darius Lamar Evans.
As an organ donor, Dwayne’s legacy lives on through the lives he saved during his transition.
Homegoing services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home, located at 2502 NC-55, Durham, NC. A viewing will take place from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
