I met Eli in 1972 at Carolina. I was able to attend several shows where he played for the Communicators. He was a fun person to be around and very talented. We have lost a fine man. He will be missed. Denise McIntosh
Whoops, forgot to include my name. Nephew Eric Hicks. Rest in heaven Unc.
Uncle Eli was one of my favorite Uncles. I love him my Aunt Velvet and the children my cousins. I am going to truly MISS coming to North Carolina and talking to Uncle Eli. We used to always stay at his house when we visited NC. He loved talking about his business l, his Tar Heels, and I loved listening to him. He always offered words of wisdom like: "to make it in life you need to be able to do one of these 2 things: make something or sell something." Rest in heaven Unc. RIH

To Velvet and the entire Brown Family, there are nowords that can I can say that will take the pain away from your hearts, but know that we love you love guys. Eli and I go back to the days we spent working for Ford Motor back in 1977. I can remember the trip we made moving to North Carolina back in the 80"s. We were the closest of friends and though a lot has changed with me, the one thing that never changed is my heart felt love for you guys. Please know that I am here if I can be of assistance to you and the family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Love Sincerely, Richard Ferguson along with my wife Thelma and my daughter Sydney.
To the Brown Family. We were so saddened to hear about Eli's transition. Our hearts are heavy right now but we must realize that God is sovereign and never changes. We can still rejoice knowing that He is good and to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you🙏🏽.
