On February 18th, 2022 the beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend; Jeffrey Von Clemmons answered to the heavenly call to "Take his noble rest." He did not fear death and was in constant prayer for his family and friends.
Jeffrey was the eldest child of the late Evangelist Mamie Lee Williamson and was raised by his grandmother Lucille Clemmons. He received his early education in the Beaufort County Public School System. He was married at an early age to the love of his life, Lavern G. Clemmons, with whom he shares 3 daughters, and 10 grandchildren.
He began his walk with Christ at an early age at St. John Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed working with the food giveaway ministry at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Jeffrey was always ready to serve friends and family regardless of the task. He was affectionately known as "Positive Pete", because of his ability to find "Glory" in every situation. He never forgot his roots and would often be found supporting his beloved Alma Mater Shaw University, and North Carolina Central University where he received his law degree.
He was a hardworking man and entrepreneur. Jeffrey believed that with faith, one could achieve anything that they could imagine. Hard work, and perseverance were the ingredients needed to have success and prosperity. Jeffrey loved to dance, and his signature moves could be found at any gathering. He didn't have to be the life of the party, he was just glad to be invited. Jeffrey loved life and lived it with passion. His "thumbs up" was his trademark and an indication that he approved what was happening, and that all was well. "To God Be the Glory" was his favorite saying and his way of facing any adversity, and he did so with a smile in his heart.
Jeffrey Clemmons was preceded in death by his mother Evangelist Mamie Lee Williamson and grandmother Lucille Clemmons. He leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life; his loving wife of 52 years, Mrs. Lavern Clemmons of the home, three daughters Mrs. Adaomma Swanson (Darren) of McLeansville, NC, Nataki Clemmons, and Asabi Watson, of Durham NC. He has 11 grandchildren, Alexandria Clemmons, Jalyn Edwards, Bailey Clemmons, Chloe Gary, Joshua Edwards (Jenise), Madison Clemmons, Joi Edwards, Jessica Edwards, Cynthia Acevedo (Dajha) ; two brothers, Jarvis Williamson (Gladys) of Teaneck NJ, Ali Talib Abdullah (Aziza) of Brooklyn NY, sister Audrey Williamson of Bath, PA; one brother in law, William Gaskins of Oxon Hill MD.; Sisters-in- Law Minnie Grice of Dumfries VA., Edna Gaskins of Brooklyn NY, Pearlene Dill of Dale City VA., Millie Latham (William), of Tampa FL, and Patricia Wilkins (Robert) of Tampa FL. He also leaves a host of lifelong friends, and relatives.
Funeral service will be held at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 2200 S. Alston Ave. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 12:00 pm, visitation service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Masks are to be worn and social distancing required at all meetings with family and friends.

With God's Name The Merciful Benefactor Merciful Redeemer, Lord of the Heavens and Earth and all in between. My wife and I offers our most sincere condolences to Jeffery's wife Lavern and the complete family of Jeffery. Jeffery and I grew up in the same neighborhood and played together as children. We didn't have the technology that children have today so for some of our entertainment we played marbles (outside game), and the young girls played barbie jacks. During our playful times Jeffery knew then that he wanted a successful career that would allow him to help people especially his own people during those challenging times and he was very successful in achieving his goals. We always enjoyed him and his wife's presence at our P. S. Jones High school Class of 1967 reunions and we had great times and we will miss his presence dearly but will remain in our hearts for all times. May God forgive him his short comings and grant him a station in Paradise. Classmates Yusuf and Berlie Abdullah
Lavern and Family, Words cannot describe the sorrow we felt in learning of Jeffrey's passing. Remembering our days growing up in school and all the memorable class reunion events over the years in which Jeffrey was always involved. His presence will truly be missed. Know that Almighty God will take care of you now and in the days ahead.
Our prayers are with you.

Lavern, as I told you and Jeff on your 50th anniversary, people like you come along once in a lifetime, and Willie and I are glad that you are a part of ours. We have been friends since our college days. We have shared many good times together. It is hard to imagine not seeing Jeff when we come to NC; because the four of us are always together. Jeff was an awesome guy and his presence will be missed by many. I'm sending you and your family a virtual hug filled with love. Bobbie Royal
We offer our sincere condolences to the Clemmons and Gaskin families. Jeffery was a native of our hometown of Washington, NC. He had a great love of family and used his knowledge and skills as an attorney to advise us personally and help many others in need of legal services, often without compensation. Jeffery and Lavern have always been generous supporters of our Piedmont Triad Chapter of PS Jones Alumni Scholarship fund. We always looked forward to their attendance at our member cookouts and dances, where they brought joy to all in their presence. I believe that Jeffery lived a strong spiritual life in his walk of faith with God. May Almighty God accept our brother Jeffery's soul in Paradise and give Peace and Comfort to the family.
