I can remember as a little girl when they would come to our church Jordan Chapel Baptist church in Warren Co every year in concert to sing and Mr Jo Jo would throw that leg up and he'd be playing that guitar!!! 98 years is a long life to live and I'm grateful to say our paths crossed. Take your rest Mr Jo Jo.

To the Family of Mr. Joseph "Jo Jo" Henry Wallace, I express my deepest condolences on behalf of the Lyons Family on Dallas Street. "Mr. Nightingale" as I referred to him was an integral part in our community. As a little girl I remember during the holiday season Mr. Jo Jo would deliver fruit and nut baskets to his neighbors. He will be remembered as a gentle and upbeat soul who was a devout Christian. I always admired how he lived out Christs' word. Every conversation that was held with him always led to a passage of scripture, a prayer or a song. He was proud to know, serve and be a part of the body of Christ. He will truly be missed.

We share so many memories of Mr. Wallace as he gave so much of himself as a disciple of Union Baptist Church. Known internationally for his ministry of music, he gave just as much in service to UBC. His genuine love and support for the Missionary Dept., Church Anniversary, the youth of our church, and the former Pastor's Aide ministry will always be remembered. A life well lived. Always a special place in our hearts

I am so sorry to hear of a man of God passing. He is at peace with the Lord and our savior Jesus Christ. I enjoyed the Nightinggales coming to Augusta ,Ga. to celebrate The Swanee Quintets anniversary every year (Big Red, Percy,Charlie Johnny, Gus ,Rufus) all gone but they will welcome Joe Joe home. What a time it will be when they all get together again. Mr. JoJo was such a talented, gentle and kindhearted man. I remember him singing with the Sensational Nightingales at my father's church and always enjoying his showmanship by swinging his guitar in the air! He was such a great friend to my father and even traveled to be a his bedside when my dad was in home hospice care in 2023. Their friendship was genuine and I'm forever grateful for him being there for my family during our time of grief. I know they are smiling and singing and shouting up in heaven together! Rest in peace Mr. JoJo! Job well done!!! ❤️
