Daye and Mitchell Families: My thoughts and prayers are with you. I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Daye in 1979. She was always very nice and kind and had the most beautiful smile. Mrs. Daye also exhibited other characteristics such as being soft-spoken, thoughtful and caring. May her precious memories help to comfort you and give you strength in the days ahead as I know they will live forever in all of our hearts. To the entire Daye family. It is with heartfelt sadness that we say goodbye to Sis Daye, the epitome of a GOD fearing woman. My most cherished memories upon returning to Peace for a visit was to take a picture with her as we both loved our hats. She will be missed,but we rest in the assurance that she now is experiencing eternal rest.

Though my late husband Deacon Johnny Johnson were longtime members of Greater Saint Paul, and later united with Union Baptist Church, the Daye's were our long time neighbors, and we became close knit community friends! Memories we will forever cherish for a lifetime. Be encouraged family. Though I'm now confined myself I'm there in spirit and will be sending my physical condolences via mail.

Greetings are coming from Gloria Walters in Jamaica, daughter of the late Annie Grimes. As a matter of fact, I had the privilege of getting to know this amazing family through the beautiful friendship my mother shared with Mrs. Daye. They communicated very regularly, and my mother always spoke of Mrs. Daye and her children with such admiration, affection, and the highest praise.

When I finally had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Daye and the rest of the family, I immediately understood why the Daye family received so many wonderful accolades from everyone who knew them. There was something very special about Mrs. Daye.

As I came to know her better, I especially admired her quiet and gentle persona. She did not have to be loud to make her presence felt. She carried herself with such grace, dignity, and class, always accompanied by that beautiful, warm smile. And I certainly cannot forget how lovely she always looked in her beautiful outfits, completed by those perfectly matching hats. She had a style and elegance that were uniquely hers.

What a lovely woman Mrs. Daye was. She leaves behind not only a loving family, but also beautiful memories in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. I feel blessed that, through the friendship she shared with my mother, I too had the opportunity to know and appreciate such a gracious and remarkable woman.

May Mrs. Daye rest peacefully, and may the love she gave, the example she set, and the memories she created continue to bring comfort to her family for many years to come. REST IN POWER, MY SISTER

My forever First Lady has gone to be with the Lord and Rev Daye. A beautiful woman of God, inward and outward. Someone we could watch for guidance. A woman of grace. I will forever hold 2 special memories, helping her find her keys and assisting her with walking. Rest well, First Lady.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of First Lady Nora Magdeline Mitchell Daye. A First Lady is a very special woman one of whom God has handpicked to walk alongside a pastor, supporting the ministry and helping to carry out the weill and work of God. Mrs. Daye was truly one of those women. She was one of the First Ladies I looked up to and admired. I admired her grace, poise, beauty, wisdom, spiritual life, and especially the loving way she embraced the congregation. Sometimes people read books, attend classes, and study for years trying to learn what it means to be a servant in the Kindgom of God. I had the privilege of simply watching Mrs. Daye. It always seemed to me that she knew what to say, how to carry herself, and even how to dress for every occassion. The beautiful smile on her face let all of us know how deeply she loved her late husband, Pastor William Daye, her family, her church family, and most importantly, God. My education at Duke Divinity School required an investment for every course I took. Yet some of my greatest lessons I learned about being a pastor's wife and a First Lady did not come from a text book or a classroom. They came without a tuition bill. I learned them by observing a Woman of God who faithfully served beside her husband and pastor. Mrs. Daye, thank you for allowing your life to be a lesson to women like me. Thank you for showing us how to serve with dignity, grace, humility, love, and faithfulness. You served well. You finished your course. You kept the faith. May God bless your beautiful and amazing soul. Thank you for being such a wonderful role model for First Ladies throughout the world, and women who are married to pastors. Rest Well, First Lady Nora Magdeline Daye. Your life spoke for you, and your legacy will continue to teach generation of women wh follow in your footsteps. Rest in Heaven! What an awesome and sweet lady Mrs. Daye was. Rev. Daye was my friend, mentor, and confidant, and Mrs. Daye let us eat out almost every week. She was so kind and generous to me.
