Obituary For Rosa Lee Brooks

Rosa Lee Brooks, age 65, died Sunday, October 15, 2017, at Duke Regional Hospital. Rosa was born in Kingstree, S.C. to the late Alonzo and Ethel Brooks on January 29, 1952. She moved to Durham as a young child and attended Durham Public Schools. Rosa pursued her love for cooking as a cook with Durham Public Schools for over 20 years and later worked over 15 years as a private duty nurse. She loved the Lord and was an active member of The Lord House Prophetic Church where she was a minister and member of the kitchen committee. Rosa is preceded in death by her daughter Tina Brooks and siblings James Brooks, Ethel Lee Brooks, Freddie Brooks, Lona Brooks and Willie Brooks. She is survived by her children, Towanda Brooks, Anthony Brooks, Condolita Brooks Nelson(Deodatus) and Rhonda Brooks; grandchildren Edward Brodie, Latoya Brooks, Alexis, and JaRon Brooks. Funeral service for Ms. Rosa Lee Brooks will be held at Cox Memorial Freewill Baptist Church, 1632 Riddle Road, Durham, NC 27713 on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Viewing will be 11:00 am with the funeral service starting at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at her home at 604 N. Driver St on Thursday and Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.
