Ms. Yes.Ruby was one of the bright "STARS" in our Kerrwood Community (Family). She will truly be missed and her legacy will continue to live through her family.
On behalf of the Jay family we were sadden to hear of the passing of Mrs.Ruby. I knew Mrs.Ruby for 13 years. She was always the first bright smiling face I would see each Sunday at Peace Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs.Ruby you will truly be missed!! The Jay family sends our deepest sympathy to the Holeman family!
Love always,
Mamie and Kierstin Jay
Ruby was my LPN Classmate. She was so encouraging always full of laughter, smiles, and common. After graduation Ruby went to work at the tobacco factory. They were hiring and she took an opportunity and it was a great decision. We lost touch until I meet Tonya. She looks so much like her mom ! Over the years I stayed in touch with Ruby through her daughter when she would come to the shop and sometimes when her daughter would tell me things about her and her dad. I was so sad when Tonya informed me about Ruby's passing. I read the comments and it is nice to know that other people thought about Ruby the same way I did. Rest well, good and faithful servant. Your legacy is safe.

Dean& The Maddrey Family Sending Our prayers & Condolences.
We understand the path the Holeman family is on right now as our mother passed in August. My mother lived down the street from them. She had two boys and two girls and so did our mom. I came across a program that was a fundraiser for a kidney transplant for my mom. When I read it Mrs. Ruby was on the committee and was one of the guest speakers at the event. They have been friends for many years because back then Kerrwood was family and everyone knew and supported one another. To the family we say "when you honor your parents and do right by them sorrow isn't as painful. It's more like a peace because you know your mother isn't suffering anymore and she is pain free. Asking Jesus to continue to give you all the strength you need to get through the days ahead. We are thankful for the chapter Kerrwood played in our lives and you already know we are only a phone call away. Toosie, Nita and Tony Jenkins
To my lovely Grandmother, aka E-Ma, aka my Maaaa. Having you as my Grandmother was the best gift God blessed me with. You will forever be in my heart💖. To my sweetest sweetheart ever, from your last Grandbaby, the one who stressed you out the most😘 Yours truly, Tee🩷
Growing up, my mother was the Director of Nursing at Pettigrew Rehab. She assembled a group of women I affectionately called the Avengers of Nursing. The avengers included women like my mother, Sharon Elliott-Bynum, Miss Joyce Davis, Miss Liz Barber, Miss Celia Pettiway, Miss Dina Whitted, Miss Mildred Hunter, and the woman who lovingly nicknamed me her "Twin," Mrs. Ruby Holman. After graduating from nursing school, I returned to Pettigrew Rehab for my 1st official nursing job. Although my mother was no longer the DON there, the incredible group of nurses she had brought together remained. My Twin, Mrs. Ruby, and Miss Mildred took me under their wings and taught me everything I didn't even know I needed to know about nursing. I would not be the nurse I am today without women like Mrs. Ruby who poured so much knowledge, wisdom, and love into me from day one. Thank you, Twin, for the lessons, the laughter, and the love. What a privilege it was to learn from you. Rest peacefully. ❤️
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
