My prayers are with Sampson family. I met him years ago working at Duke University. He was such a sweet and loving person. He always had a beautiful smile on his face. Again my prayers are with his family . Virginia
My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. I will always treasure the countless laughs we shared over the years. He was truly one of the good ones, and his kindness and friendship will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed.
SAM YOU ARE WILLING GOING TO BE MISS BY EVERYONE WHO CAME IN CONTACT WITH YOU SAM YOU WERE A GOOD PERSON WILLING TO HELP ANYONE
May God continue to strengthen this family during their time of bereavement. Sam was a man of integrity and was loved deeply by the community and people he encountered. Gone but never forgotten.
I had the privilege of meeting Sam, when Vic became my barber almost 30 yrs. ago. We had many times and occasions together, he will be missed. I am praying for his family and friends, as earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal!
To many, Sam was a good man. But to my family, he was much more. He was the best friend of my brother the late Maurice Riley. When Maurice received the devastating news that he had cancer, he called Sam. Without hesitation, Sam came and stay by his side for 3 days. That was just the beginning of the kind of friend he was. From that day until Maurice was called to Glory, Sam called every single day asking one simple question; "Do you need anything?" Those weren't just words, they were backed by love, faithfulness, and action. Sam wasn't just Maurice's friend; he became my friend too. His kindness, his caring spirit, made him a blessing to everyone who knew him. Rest in peace, my friend, I can only imagine the reunion you and Maurice will have. You will be deeply missed, but you will never be forgotten.
Sam had always been a true friend from day one! The last time I saw him was two days before he passed and he told me he loved me. I would talk to him on the phone in previous conversations and my wife would hear him say I love you man, and she would pick on me, but he always took her side when we had disagreements. That was his friend he called her. Prayers going out to the family, Jacky, and Patricia, and all the Children, and grand children, Mother!
Will be missed
Sam and I go way back. Our friendship runs deep, knowing each other for 20+ years. We began working together at East & West Duke Buildings, and White Lecture Hall. You will truly be missed man. My sincerest condolences to his wife and family. You were the definition of a true friend.

The world and Duke University lost one of the good guys. This news breaks my heart for his family. Sam and I were the early birds together at Smith Warehouse, Duke University. We had the building to ourselves to solve the worlds troubles. He was so dedicated to his family and work. I miss our mornings. Prayers to the family.
