Mr. Walter Jerry Lewis Royal, 67, was born on Friday, May 18, 1956 and departed this life on Monday, May 22, 2023.

Visitation service will be Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 12:00 to 7:00 pm at Hillside Memorial and Gardens Chapel, 3284 Central Plank Rd. Wetumpka, AL 36092.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Peace & Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church, 188 Co. Rd 30 Rockford, AL 35136. Repast to follow at the Peace & Goodwill Life Center.

The service will be live streamed on the Hillside Memorial & Gardens Facebook page.

I never actually met Mr. Royal. I joined Durham police at his residence on Monday as Chaplain support. I was so impressed that his neighbors and friends came out in numbers to show their concern and express their condolences. His employer, the Angus Barn, was also represented. It was clear to me that he was very well regarded and loved.
