Bruce “Cool” Conwell, was born on June 15, 1956, and was known by many simply as “Cool,” a name that reflected his calm nature, easy smile, and kind heart.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children whom he loved, His son, Terelton J. Conwell (Shameka), and his daughter, Briana A. Conwell, and his grandson Isaiah Conwell. He is also survived by two beloved sisters, Ruby L. Conwell and Alley M. Hornes, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends who became family.
For many years, Bruce was a coach in his community—a role he embraced wholeheartedly. Calm, patient, and deeply caring, he became a favorite among many of the children he mentored. His positive influence extended far beyond the playing field. Bruce taught more than just the game; he taught life lessons in respect, perseverance, and love. His presence will be sorely missed not only by those he coached but by the entire community who admired and respected him.
Special recognition is given to his lifelong friends and brothers in spirit: Saul Johnson III, Thaddeus Johnson, Sr., and Lew Johnson, whose unwavering friendship brought him comfort and joy through the years.

In loving memory for my ex brother in-law .
55 years of friendship and never had words. I call that a friend. I remember first meeting Bruce when my grandma took me to his house to see his mom for a visit, he took me out back to play basketball which he lost and wanted a do over. I Love this guy and and pray that the family know he's in a good place, rest well aka Kool
I can't believe I'm typings the words, "RIP Coach Bruce", nonetheless, this is our reality. I have too many memories to even begin trying to recount. From Newtown Little League, to Cal Ripken on 12th Street, to Booker High, you've been the cool, calm, and collected role model that always imparted a kick in the rear end followed by words of wisdom. I vividly remember playing Little League All Stars when I hit an inside the park home run. Coach Lew Johnson was telling me to hold up at 3rd base, but you told me to keep on running home. I scored, but it led to you and Coach Lew getting into a little squabble. However, you had my back then, later on in life, and if you were still here I'm confident in saying that you would have it now. Thanks for always being a great coach. Your only shortcoming was your inexplicable love for the Dallas "Cowgirls". Other than that, you were good in my book. Fly High Coach Bruce. You will be missed.
