Obituary For Donald Thompson, Sr.

Donald Thompson, Sr., 77, passed away on February 16, 2021 after a long illness. He was born on October 23, 1943 to Maggie Thompson of Spartanburg, SC. Mr. Thompson was the husband of Mrs. Lillie Mae Copeland Thompson.

Donald retired in 2006 after many years of service in the trucking transportation industry.

Mr. Thompson's love for helping others was the force behind his fifty year tenure as a faithful servant of Jehovah, providing guidance and structure as an Elder.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his wife of fifty-nine years, Lillie Mae; his children, Teresa Cromer, Donald Thompson, Jr. (Darlene), Raymond Thompson (Sandy), Valerie Hudson (Dedric) and Tamika Hudson (Clarence); his eighteen grandchildren; his ten great-grandchildren; and a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his mother, Maggie Thompson; and his sister, Dorothy Thompson.

Private Memorial Services will be held for Donald Thompson via zoom on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC.

Mr. Thompson will lie in state on February 27, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. for public viewing at the chapel.
