Viola Taylor Miller was born on June 3, 1941, in Luxora, AR to Howard and Eliza Taylor. She was the baby of family. She was a graduate of Carver High School in Luxora, AR. She met the love of her life, Mr. Billy Edward Miller, her senior year in high school. They were married on December 26, 1961. They shared 59 amazing years of marriage and countless memories together. They had two handsome boys that were her heart, her first and her baby. Viola was the first in her family to go to college. She attended the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff and studied elementary education. She received her bachelor’s degree and she never stopped learning. Teaching elementary school was her profession, she also wrote poems for special occasions, as well as authored 3 books. It seemed as if she knew everything. From technology to history, Viola was one of the smartest, yet humble people you could ever meet. Viola confessed her faith to Jesus Christ at New Salem Baptist church. She later joined Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served the Lord by leading in BTU, usher, missionary board leader, and Sunday school teacher. Her teachings touched the lives of many children. Viola knew the word of God and the word was in her and she lived the life to prove it. She studied constantly and taught others about Jesus. There was never any doubt of whom she put her trust. She would help anyone who needed it. She had the most giving spirit. Her loving heart was undeniable. Her beautiful smile was contagious. The Lord determined that earth was not good enough for his angel, Viola, on June 4, 2021. Preceding her in death, were her parents, 9 brothers and 3 sisters. Viola leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband, Edward Billy Miller, 2 sons, Billy Miller (Gwendolyn) and Adrian Miller (Vinita), 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, one sister, Dorothy Harris (Elbert), 4 Sisters in law, 1 Brother-in-law, her nephew and sweet niece, Andre and Diane Diggs, and host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and students. Visitation will be Saturday June 12, 2021, from 12:00 noon until services begins at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Chapel Baptist Church, 304 Main Street, Luxora, Arkansas where Reverend Melvin Taylor is the pastor. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Michael McKinnie will deliver the eulogy with burial to follow in the Luxora City Cemetery. I was once lucky enough to teach with this beautiful lady and her husband Billy. I believe the world to be a sadder place without her in it! Viola, I still have the poem you and Billy wrote and gave to me before I left and I cherish it still. I always thought I would see you again, all those years ago when Mike and I moved away. Rest in peace sweet friend in the loving arms of our lord and savior. With much love to you and Billy,
Evelynn J O'Neal
My deepest prayers and sympathy to you family. She was a beautiful woman, I met her in 1969 she was one of my music students. A wonderful person.
I remember Mrs Miller from junior high school. Just as her obituary states, she was kind, loving and caring. She showed a lot of interest in her student's success. She exemplified not only what a good teacher should be but showed us what we could be if we worked and studied hard. She definitely made an influence on me. I don't remember many of my other former teachers but I never forgot her. Rest on my sweet and beautiful teacher, you deserve it. Heart felt condolences to the family.

Mrs. Miller was my 7th and 8th grade Math teacher at Blytheville West Junior High School. She was one of my favorite teachers and one the best. I am praying for the family. Donzell McMorris Smith
Mrs. Miller taught me at West Jr High in the seventh grade in 1977. Mr. Miller taught me in 8th grade in 1978. Two of the best teachers and finest people I have ever known. They both were a great influence in my life, both in education and as role models. There is a saying " Being a role model is the most powerful form of educating." The golden moments in the stream of life rush past us and we see nothing but sand; the angels come to visit us, but we only know them when they are gone. May God comfort you Mr. Miller, knowing that your wife now has her wings. Jay Bullard Blytheville, AR
