It is with heartfelt sadness that I join family and friends in offering sincere condolences during this time of Joannn's death. We have been friends for several decades and kept in contact daily throughout the years. She was loved by many and we are sure she loved us. She desired to make a good name with God. (Eccl. 7:1) Additionally, the promise of a resurrection brings comfort during this time.(John 5:28,29) God's word tell us that death is likened to a deep sleep (John 11:11-14) By means of the resurrection, God will do away with death forever. (Revelation 21:4) As we trust the Bible and comfort the family now, Joann would want us to see her again when all things will be made new, the resurrected ones will enjoy life because soon the righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it. (Psalm 37:29) We will surely miss Joann but look forward to the promise as her family are comforted by friends and most importantly, God's word.

Sending the family prayers. I remember her since I was a child growing up. We send our prayers deeply and condolences.

Our Heavenly Father has called His child from her earthly home where she experienced so much discomfort to be in His presence. My sister friends, Joann, Verna and I grew up together on Lewis Street 70 plus years ago. We all attended Washington Public School, from there we matriculated to Lewis Adams Elementary School, and then to Tuskegee Institute High School. Joann was a sweet, sweet and caring individual who always did her best to help others. After going our separate ways, the Holy Spirit reunited us. We had numerous telephone conversations and when in Alabama, my husband and I would stop in to visit when time allowed. Prior to and during her illnesses, surgical procedures and subsequent hospitalizations, she would reach out to see how we were doing. She was a devout Christian who I personally know, loved our God to the utmost. Michelle, Rylee and Travis, thanks for sharing Joann with me and my family. As children of the most High God, we will see her again when Christ returns to take those of us who remain (after the dead in Christ are caught up first), to meet Him in the air. To my friend Mary and all of Joann's family: Heaven has reclaimed one of God's own. She was a genuinely lovely personable person. I will always remember her and my baby sister playing together and looking up to me, the older big sister. She's now with the other angels so there's no need to mourn her, just remember her for the the goodness that she was. She's in God's arms now, no more troubles of this world!

I smile as I reflect on having very fond memories of Joann as my sister's friend and classmate as well as our trusted family friend and neighbor down the street living with Ms. Odessa. I remember her playing jacks with me and giving me a green purse. Beason my classmate to you and your family I pray the God of all comfort and strength and peace walk with you all today and the days ahead. Amen 🙏🏾
