When I heard the sad news on television, I was in disbelief didn't want to believe what I heard. I call a friend she said yes it is true Mr. Hines is gone to be with the Lord. I meet Mr. Hines many years ago when he tutor me in math while attending Troy State University. I passed the math he tutored me. I'm so thankful and blessed to have met a smart and intelligent math teacher that inspired so many students. Take your rest Mr. Hines your legacy will never be forgotten.
Big Brother I'm Missing You Already. When I Saw You Resting In That Casket I Lost It. I Was Sitting There Think That Should Be Me Not You Man. I'm Going To Miss You and Your Phone Calls Man. God Needed You In Heaven So He Called You Home. Say Hi To Moms For Us. We Are Going To Miss You. Rest In Power Big Bruh. 😢😪😢
To the family of Mr. Harold Hines, I pray GOD'S peace and strength for you. Day by day you will breathe fully, again. Your heart will hear his name and laughter will come before tears. I will remember my days at Kedrick High School (2006-09) when we were co-workers. I called him "Slo-walk" because of that distinctive gait. His students were blessed to have him as a teacher. When JESUS returns and we see each other, maybe we will have time to talk about flowers. So long my brother.
"May the work I've done speak for me" and it has. As a great man that set the example for his family, friends and students. Most of your co-workers
You name will not go in vain. You've left a legacy amongst thousands of students.
Rest peacefully!
Never thought that I would be writing something like this ever but, Mr Hines was one of the best math teachers that taught me so much whether it was math or about real world situations and what we needed to be prepared for after we graduated. Mr. Hines was a very funny but yet serious person he always told the truth and never sugar coated anything but always made sure everyone got the principal of what he was trying to say. Mr. Hines Thank you for pushing me and making sure that I was on point for the years that I did have you as my teacher. Your name will forever ring through the halls of Kendrick High School for all the years to come. Rest in peace and we will seen you again soon in another lifetime 🕊️🕊️
My sincerest condolences to the family. I pray that God gives you all strength you need to make it through this time.
Mr. Hines...Mr. Hines...an amazing teacher and overall outstanding example. Anytime I saw you it was always love. You will definitely be missed 🥺. Rest well 🙏🏾 Go Dawgs!!! ❤️🖤
To the family of Mr Hines- As the former principal at KHS, it was rewarding to know that my (our) students were in good hands and would be pushed to reach their highest potential in mathematics. Today, I say thank you Mr Hines for the gift of learning for guiding so many students with patience and wisdom. You knew when to explain and you gave those who needed the extra attention what they needed, but you reminded them that they too must share in their learning and understanding. Your love for math did not go unnoticed. I know you made a difference. Take your rest and you will be missed.
I know this comes as a surprise to many. But we know that our God makes no mistakes. Harrold's parents raised him up to be the respectful man that he was. I can say that his mother and I were friends. And Harold was a friend and classmate with my nephew Michael Alexander. I believe the last time that I saw Harrold was at Michael's wedding. He was a friend to many. To the family, friends, classmates, love Ones and students, just keep loving on each other every chance you get. For we never know the day or time the Lord will call our name. So let's keep each other in prayer. Never forget the impact that Harrold has had in your life. God Bless. ❤ 🙏
Truly one of the best that I've had the privilege of working with. His genuine personality, his humor and his professionalism went unmatched in the halls of KHS. Rest well my friend you will be truly missed💙
"Time is filled with swift transition" and the passing of this honorable man proves it. Having just seen him a few weeks ago, looking the picture of health, only goes to prove that we know not the time when the Lord shall call us home. I taught with Harold at Kendrick High School. He was always the consummate gentleman and an A number 1 math teacher. Both students and teachers respected him. He will be deeply missed. Sleep well, King. You have been faithful over a few things now receive your reward as the work you have done speaks well for you. My deepest sympathy to his family and all who knew and loved him.
Wow! Sending my prayers and condolences to the family of the best math teacher a girl could ask for! I called him my school dad. He pushed me beyond what I thought I could do or be and I will forever be grateful for that.
To the teacher who always pushed us to our full potential! I thank you for how much you poured into me! You will be missed! ❤️🩹✨

Mr. Harold Hines, a pillar of Kendrick High School and a true embodiment of excellence in education, mentorship, and character. I first met Mr. Hines as a student at Kendrick, and even then, he stood out as the epitome of what a Black male educator should be—firm yet kind, wise yet approachable, and always ready with a joke to lighten the day.
His impact spans generations of Kendrick graduates, each touched by his unwavering dedication and his powerful example of manhood, leadership, and compassion. I had the distinct honor of working alongside Mr. Hines for five years, and during that time, his consistency never wavered. He remained the same generous, thoughtful, and humorous soul I had admired as a student.
Mr. Hines was always available to lend a hand, offer guidance, or simply share a laugh. His presence was a gift to our school, our community, and to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a true Cherokee in spirit—strong, wise, and deeply rooted in purpose.
He will be missed dearly, but his legacy will live on in the halls of Kendrick High and in the hearts of all those he inspired.
Rest in power, Mr. Hines.
You will be truly missed by all of your kids (students) Rest in Heaven Mr. Hines
He was quite easily one of my favorite co-workers ever. I have the fondest memories of him - especially around our birthdays. He loved that I was older than him and never let me forget it. Praying for peace and comfort for his family and friends.
