Michael Ray Evans, known to his siblings as "little Mikey”, and “Mike” to others was the son of Drew and Arbazell Evans Grills. He was born in Cleveland Ohio; moved with his mother to Warner Robins, Georgia in July 1984. After graduating from Northside High, he enlisted in the Army where he spent two years and received an honorable discharge. He attended Savanah State University where he pledged Delta Eta and later transferred to Gamma Zeta, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. at Fort Valley State University Michael, at the age of four was adventurous, he would sneak out of the house and tour the neighborhood alone. Everyone on our street knew and loved him. He had an engaging personality, was inquisitive, loving, caring, and always smiling. He faced life’s challenges with a smile. He never met a stranger and everyone that he met cared for him. He was a strong believer in family values. His children were his heart, where he went so did they. Mike loved to build and take things apart and try to put them back together. His passion and love for technology was discovered while in the Army. He eventually became an entrepreneur and started his own business while furthering his education in the Information Technology (IT) field. After closing his business, he worked for many companies (Fort Valley State College, Mercer University, NCR, and Shiji). He loved to travel, taking his family to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. He also loved to go fishing and play chess with Branden and his father. His favorite gospel songs were “Come on In the Room” and “Don’t Move My Mountain”. Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Evans (2018). He leaves all to cherish his memory, his mother and father, Arbazell and Drew, his wife Jocelyn, four daughters (Paige, Kylie, Zoe, and Fallyn); grandson (Alex “man-man”); sisters (Redina [Ron] & Dawn [Jerry]); brothers (Randy, Terry, Damon, Sean [Marla] & Derek); two uncles (Earl & Rickey); two aunts (Marguerite & Jackie); thirteen nieces]; 3 grandnieces; nine nephews and many, many cousins and friends, his God daughters (Kya & Sara Lewis), his best friends, Branden Lewis (Grayson GA), Andrew “Spanky” Snider (Warner Robins GA), Mike Clark ( Atlanta GA) and Carl Clark (Cleve OH).

The services were beautifully done, and you can tell the love your family has for each other by the beautiful words written and said about Michael. May God continue to comfort you during these and future moments! Jehovah too knows how it feels to lose loved ones. It is never easy. Jehovah God has promised us a future without grief or loss! (Revelation 21:3,4) I pray that you continue to love and support one another, and find yourselves strengthened and comforted in prayer. Love you all.

My heart is saddened to learn of the passing of "Lil Mike." "Lil Mike" and my brother Mike were best friends growing up. Whenever you would see one of them, you were sure to find the other one close by. I thought of him as my third brother. I recall the memories of him having dinner with us after playing basketball, riding the mini bike or skateboarding with Mike until sunset. My heart and prayers go out to the entire family. We will certainly miss seeing his beautiful smile. God Bless! Pamela Clark
