His Service is TBA, Friday, May 15, 2026 at Clinton Chapel Memorial AME Zion Church, Pollocksville, North Carolina.
The Interment will follow at The Killis Murphy, Sr. Cemetery, Pollocksville, NC.
He is survived by his wife, Gladdie Banks Preston of the home; one son, Roderick Henderson (Gwen), Garner, NC; three daughters, Alix Preston, Charlotte, NC, Allison Darden (Jeff), Pollocksville, NC and Adrian Woodard, St. Mary's GA.; one brother, George Preston (Peggy) Ardmore, PA; three sisters, Jean Matthews, Washington, DC, Shirley Harris, Norfolk, VA and Carol Gray, Fort Washington, MD; nine grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; two honorary grandchildren.
