To the Nelson family, thank you for sharing your angel with a Sidberry family. My mother, Carletha Sidberry, considered Anitra as her church daughter. I'm sure the two of them are celebrating in heaven right now. Anitra Nelson, a radiant soul who embraced selflessness, her love and giving nature touched countless lives, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion."

My sincerest condolences to Anitra's family. Anita and I were Child Support colleagues. Daisie Blue, former Chief, Child Support Services, Raleigh, NC
My love and prayers for the family. I met Anitra in 1990 while working at Craven Co. Child Support. We had multiple professional relationships. We were co-workers at first, then I was her supervisor, then she was my supervisor. She was such an easy going person, a quiet presence and always fair. We loved talking about our families whom she loved fiercely, we often aligned on religion and social issues. When we chatted, nothing was off the table. She taught me so much about racism and privilege but always in a loving gentle way. I remember she set up and manned a room during Black History month in the mall for years, she loved giving back and sharing her inclusive views with the community she served. She was a quiet and gentle warrior for social justice. She wanted to make this world a better place for her children and grandchildren. I used to joke that I don't normally "keep" work friends as friends after leaving a job but she was the exception. Always exceptional. - Gwen Lessard

Anitra and I worked at Child Support Enforcement, and became Continental Women together. What a joy and a pleasure to be in her company. There was an incident while working together where she and I laughed at Parena Fonville about becoming pregnant, and the next thing we knew she and then I became pregnant also.
May Faith give you strength, May Prayers bring you comfort. Thinking of you and praying for you at this difficult time. Sharon C. Holloway Bryant and Family
