Bennie Edward Hicks, 81, of Evergreen, a native of The Historic James City Community of New Bern, NC died February 20, 2026 at Cape Fear Valley Life Care.
His Service will be held Saturday February 28, 2026 at Peopleโs Funeral Home 707 Vinson Vinson Blvd. Whiteville, NC with Viewing at 11:00 AM and the Service at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

He is survived by two daughters, Dr. Kereen McCullough, Baltimore, MD and Virginia Jacobs Randallstown, MD; grandsons, Trey Massey Sr. and Tarodd Jacobs both of Baltimore, Desmond McCullogh ( Enโdea) granddaughter, Daylah McCullough; great-grandson, Trey Massey, Jr.; brother, Terrence Hicks (Eunice), New Bern; sister, Cynthia E. Hicks, Laurel, MD; nieces and nephews.
