Ms. Blount was my 7th and 8th grade teacher at GCF. She was a very special soul that encouraged and helped me through a rough time in my life. I don't think I ever let her know how much her compassion and dedication to those around her really did positively impact the world and that her Sunshine has made her proud. She was a light in the darkness and empowered me to be a strong woman.

Beverly was the sunshine to many situations that occurred at HJM. Her humor was so infectious. I always enjoyed her stories. RIP sweet Beverly.
Mrs. Garfield,
I was truly made better for knowing you. Not only did your kindness shine through, but your toughness as well. You inspired me to be a little tougher and helped me be stronger. We didn't always agree, but always had the best interest of those around us in mind. You taught me great things come in small packages! I'm a better person/teacher for having been graced by your presence. May you rest peacefully and bring your joy to heaven with/for you, and those around you.
My condolences to the Blount and Garfield families. I pray for your comfort and peace. Darlene Badger

Every interaction we had, whether in visiting each other's church or out in the neighborhood, was always encouraging and inspirational. Awww, our condolences to the entire family. When I moved to New Bern in the early sixties, Bev became my best friend, neighbor, classmate and buddy. We chose different paths in the seventies, but reunited in the nineties and remained good friends. Although, we didn't see each other often, she will be greatly missed. My husband, Charles and I pray comfort, peace and strength to Bev's husband Ander and family. Love, Marion Smith-Dudley
